LARGO, Fla. (Oct. 28, 2009) – STAR Technology Enterprise Center (www.startecflorida.com), a technology innovation and entrepreneurship center will hold its inaugural IDEA Camp on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Collaborative Labs at St. Petersburg College, 13805 58th St. N., Clearwater.
"This is going to be an exciting and high energy day for innovation and creative thinking," says Tonya Elmore, executive director of STAR TEC. "At STAR TEC, we are always looking for new ways to help entrepreneurs propel their ideas and products forward and network within the entrepreneurial community, and we think this will be a very effective way to accomplish these goals."
Seventeen concepts have been chosen to participate, with technologies ranging from Web applications and Web sites, vertical axis wind turbines and innovative marine showers. This invitation-only collaborative event will help inventors, entrepreneurs and other small technology businesses refine their value proposition, vet ideas through peers, refine their business model and deliver an effective pitch to industry audiences and financing sources.
IDEA Camp is expected to attract more than 75 entrepreneurs, funders, prospective mentors and individuals from industry associations, prototyping firms and economic development and education partners. For more information, contact Jennifer Olsen, at 727-547-7358, or e-mail at olsenj@ctc.com.
