Committee Structure

Executive Committee: meets quarterly with the Board of Directors and as-needed to provide leadership for the growth and on-going development of STAR TEC programs.

Board of Directors: meets quarterly with the Executive Committee to review the progress and initiatives of STAR TEC. It provides guidance, financial support, and oversight of STAR TEC programs.

Advisory Board: meets bi-monthly to provide direction and support services that help secure the success of the STAR TEC program and its tenants. This board is comprised of representatives with business/community/academic knowledge, resources and networks. This board along with STAR TEC's executive director monitor tenant's performance, progress and continued need for incubator assistance.

Advisory Board Committees: chairs of these committees meet bi-monthly. They also report their progress and activities to the advisory board. They consist of:

  • Community Outreach: works to establish knowledge and support base for emerging companies that locate in STAR TEC with key local and state organizations, industry trade associations and academic institutions.
  • Marketing: handles public relations and direct marketing for STAR TEC. It consists of individuals with marketing and media expertise.
  • Mentoring: responsible for fostering supportive relationships that help clients meet vision and program goals. Members of this subcommittee will provide regular, consistent contact with client, program evaluation and ongoing communication. Confidentiality policies may apply.
  • Vetting: is by invitation only to subject matter experts in specific fields of study relevant to the applicant's product/technology/concept. This committee is responsible for populating the accelerator with successful companies. Accelerator candidates recommended by this committee must meet all admission requirements and approval of the executive director/advisory board.
